How does the Lure Waypoint works? (Basic)

Hello and welcome to this simple tutorial of how to use the Lure Waypoints.

1. Lure without special areas.

---

Let's suppose we are hunting Hellspawns and we want to Lure them to a safe spot where the shooter can kill the monster.

• You need to tell the bot where do you want to Lure the monster, so, you have to create a Lure Waypoint.

• You need to create a waypoint to go and search for monsters to lure.

• You need to configure the targeting to Lure the monster, depending on your needs.

• There are different kind of Lure stances.

​Lure & Stand: It will lure the monster and stay at the lure waypoint.
Lure & Circle: It will lure the monster and kill it in circles. (melee)
Lure & Keep Away: It will lure the monster with the distance specified. (Good for paladins and mages)
Wait & Lure & Keep Away: It will wait until the monster close to you and do the same as Lure & Keep Away.

In this image you can see that the first waypoint is a Lure Waypoint (first step of this tutorial) and the second one is a Stand Waypoint (second step of this tutorial).

Important Note: The lure waypoint always has to be before the waypoint to go and search for monsters.

2. Lure with special areas.

---

Let's suppose we are still hunting Hellspawns and we want to Lure them to a safe spot where we can kill the monster without luring more.
We create the same waypoints but in this case we create special areas.

• Imagine you want to kill hellspawns around that tree

• We make the special areas wite Lure Waypoint inside and it should look like this.

• We change the policy of the special areas so the bot will take them in mind when the bot has a target but ignore them while luring.

• After you do all this you make the waypoints to go and lure monsters.
  
  
• Do not forget to set the targeting stance to Lure & Keep Away.

A tip for your screens would be to use Showwaypoints hud (ships by default with Windbot) to easier demonstrate and give better visual feedback, great intiative however and I was just sat thinking about doing a tut for this, now I wont need to :)

I'm trying this and i can't make it work D: i add a lure waypoint and then a stand to go search monsters and at targeting i put lure and keep away but my character just atk as keep away and don't reach the lure waypoint D:

Osea mi primer waypoint es un lure, luego e intentado colocando un stand o varios nodes y coloco en el targeting el monstruo en lure & keep away

Pues si lo estas haciendo como digo aquí el char debería correr hasta allá, pero si no tienes áreas especiales y aún no haz matado el monstruo cuando llegué a ese waypoint entonces empezará a correr por donde le venga en gana.

El problema es que no llega a ese waypoint >,< , pero si estoy en lo correcto? primero va lure, luego el recorrido y pues solo deberia ir hacia aya cierto? >.<, y sobre las special areas, deberia crear unas para que el keep away no camine como loco? como en la imagen? o que hago mal? XD

Crea un cuadrado y le pones para que la considere en targeting y la ignore cuando estés lureando, el waypoint lure debe estar dentro de ese cuadrado y dentro de ese cuadrado va a matar el monstruo, entiendes?

si pues eso es lo que necesito pero nose xke no funciona, creo un lure, los node y nada no va hacia el lure >.<

Jesuzor una pregunta.. yo entiendo como funciona, pero puedo tener solo 1 Lure waypoint?
porque una vez intente tener mas de 1 pero el bot iba siempre al primero del script (tenia uno cercano a cada zona donde necesitaba lurear)

Nose si me logre explicar

You can have as many lure waypoints as you want but always remember to place the Lure Waypoint first and the the Waypoint to search for monsters.

Puedes tener cuantos Lure Waypoints quieras, solo tienes que tener en cuenta que primero tienes que hacer el Waypoint para lurear y después los Waypoints para buscar monstruos.

But I mean, how do i make the bot go to the "nearest" lure waypoint and not to the first one (thinking that both of them are on the same floor)

For example theres a rock ( "O") and i wanna make my paladin run around it, should i put the waypoints ("X") like that? so when he lets say, is beign followed by a drillworm, he goes around the rock without beign hit by the drillworm, and without luring more monsters?

It will run always to the last one. If you ran past X and you want to go to Y you need to use setlurelocation() to change it.

About your second question, you'd have to make special areas to make it run inside them.

As Roxzin you gotta make special areas and then make a Lure Waypoint inside them, after that your change the property of the special area to "Ignore when luring"

Just doesn't work for me, if i add a lure waypoint, another waypoint where he should go to to lure, set targeting to lure and keep away, it just kills my monsters in a random position instead of going towards my lure position.

Make sure that the bot runs through the lure waypoint first otherwise it won't know where to lure to, so it is LURE then STAND/NODE. Also another way would be to add a hotkey for example like this.

auto(1000)

setlurelocation(33233, 32323, 7)

The lure point doesn't determine that. You need to add more other waypoints like nodes or add an action waypoint with a wait(10000,20000) or something along them lines. And if you want to keep running around with 1 creatures untill you get 3 for example under targeting change the count to 3+.

Ok so.. i think i get it... anyways i have some questions.

I want it to go and find a monster then bring it back to a killing place. So that's a Lure point and a Stand point, right? Then i want it to do the same thing on a different place. So, that mean i need to create a new Lure point under my first Stand point and ofcourse add a new Stand point for my new Lure point, right? And so on with other respawn point, right?

Now, how do i make to stop going to any Stand point when a monster is in the way? Should i use a hotkey for that? something like... monstersaround.3 >= 1 gotolabel XXX (standing point)

Now... what if there are ''dangerous areas''... i mean.. there is a 1 sqm way. What should i do? Should i use a special area? What if the character can't go because a monster is blocking the way and is already luring a monster becoming 2 monsters at the same time, can i set a special area for walking back to open the way and keep normaly?

This will help a lot. My own-made-script was just running around more and attracted more monsters.
Eventually I died several times because of it. Now I will try to set special area's and make a luring waypoint.

Btw, can the other walking waypoints be 3x3 or 4x4 nodes instead of a stand-point?
Or will that break the luring?

could make a waypoint to stand , and an action that when 2 hellwpawn go right sqm ?! course using special areas.. @Jesusz0r @RoxZin xD
